Meet Our Team

Janet grew up in the Northeastern region of the United States. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Quinnipiac University in 1990 and she then went on to specialise in neuro-rehabilitation, working closely with patients who had experienced strokes, spinal cord injuries, and brain trauma. Her dedication to this field was recognised when she received her Board Certification in Neuro-Rehabilitation from the American Occupational Therapy Association.

In her role as the lead Occupational Therapist at the Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, Maryland, Janet acquired significant expertise in managing complex orthopaedic injuries. Her career took a fascinating turn in 2015 when she discovered the field of Canine Rehabilitation. Pursuing this newfound interest led her to study at The University of Tennessee, where she completed her residency in Canine Rehabilitation at the Chesapeake Veterinary Surgery Specialists in Annapolis, Maryland, receiving her CCRP in 2016. Janet played a pivotal role in creating the Canine Rehabilitation program for CVSS at a new location, where she worked until 2020.

Seeking a fresh adventure, Janet, alongside her husband Daren and their three sons, made the bold decision to move to Australia in 2020. She is excited to be on the Gold Coast, where she plays a key role in launching and managing the first comprehensive Canine Rehabilitation Centre in the area. Away from work, Janet loves to spend her time hiking, paddleboarding, and enjoying anything that keeps her active and exploring the beautiful new country she now calls home.
